Plowin’ Thru offers audiences a return to 1975, as the rural Ladies negotiate cultural shifts in America. “We’ve been with these characters for so long,” said scriptwriter Greta Grosch, “and we stay interested because they don’t stay the same. Growth is often pressed upon them by outside forces, and they may stumble and push back at first. They are glad to have Pastor Gunderson back from the big city, but aren’t ready to embrace his new wife, or his toupee! Mavis, Vivian and Karin are a little more comfortable when acting as the outside force changing the lives of others, and in Plowin’ Thru, we’ll get to see them do a bit of that, too.”
