Troupe America, Inc. was founded in 1987 by Executive Producer/Director Curt Wollan.

In the early days, we were a small production company operating a theatre in Minneapolis. Over the years we have grown to become a nationally recognized company producing programs for the national touring circuit.

We also expanded to create a convention / events division and provide talent and equipment for corporate events – including a unique program produced specifically for the opening ceremonies of the 75th and 100th Anniversary conventions of the American Legion.

For years we operated out of The Plymouth Playhouse where we produced numerous
Off-Broadway Musicals including:

The Taffetas

Oil City Symphony

A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline

Pump Boys and Dinettes

NUNSENSE

I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change

Troupe America commissioned and produced popular “home-grown musicals” including a five year run of “How To Talk Minnesotan, the Musical” based on the popular book by Howard Mohr and the series of eight musicals about the Church Basement Ladies based on the award-winning books by Janet Martin and Suzann Nelson. Troupe America also commissioned the musicals Mr. Pickwick’s Christmas, An Evening With Mae West, Christmas on the Ranch, and The Lovely Liebowitz Sisters which toured with Phyllis Diller
