HOW TO TALK MINNESOTAN THE MUSICAL

A HECKUVA DEAL!
Perfect for your out-of-town guest, family, & friends.

"... full of endearing performances." Star Tribune

After five record-breaking years at the Plymouth Playhouse, followed by two successful regional tours of the summer version, Howard Mohr's stage adaptation of his popular book, "How To Talk Minnesotan", with music by Drew Jansen is available for private parties and convention entertainment.

How To Talk Minnesotan The Musical has become Minnesota's longest running and most successful homegrown musical comedy. Opening in January 1997 at Plymouth Playhouse with the Summer version, the Holiday/Winter version was added in November 1998 followed by the Best Of version in 2001. The show has performed to an estimated 1 million visitors throughout Minnesota and regionally.

Your venue can become the home of the Lost Walleye Lodge, owned by the Humde family. The show gives you those beloved classics “Hotdish Hallelujah”, Northwoods Woman”, and “Brothers In Ice” along with new lessons and jingles like “Bigger Hammer Hardware” and “Bird Dog Brand Turkey Wieners.” Mohr says, “Don’t worry, you can still expect lots of laughs as you relax at the Lost Walleye Lodge and forget the world for a couple of hours. In other words, here’s your chance to go up to the lake without tying the bikes to the roof of the car.”

A WHOLE LOT TO LOVE
It's 1945 and those large and lovely sisters of swing perform in their cabaret, the Krakatoa Lounge, within the majestic Amazon Hotel in beautiful downtown Cleveland. Premiering at the Plymouth Playhouse in 1988,“The Liebos” have since become a hit throughout the country! Once again, their performance will simply bowl you over with their non-stop antics and those fabulous 1940’s swing tunes, backed by their band, Bobby Argyle and His Sox!

Truly an audience participation event, Patti, Maxine & LaVonne introduced by their oily emcee, Yannis, belt out their favorite big band tunes and play every instrument imaginable in a show that is a hilarious celebration of big beautiful women gifted with big beautiful voices.

The lovely Liebowitz sisters were a huge hit in St. Louis, Columbus, Atlantic City, Kansas City, Minneapolis, and on tour with Phyllis Diller.

Church Basement Ladies

The Recipe for Laughter You've Been Waiting for!

Church Basement Ladies
Book by Jim Stowell and Jessica Zuehlke
Music & Lyrics by Drew Jansen

A celebration of the church basement kitchen and the women who work there, CHURCH BASEMENT LADIES, is a new musical comedy featuring four distinct characters and their relationships as they organize the food and solve the problems of a rural Minnesota church about to undergo changes in 1965.
From the elderly matriarch of the kitchen to the young bride-to-be learning the proper order of things, we see them handle a record breaking Christmas dinner, the funeral of a dear friend, a Hawaiian Easter Fund Raiser, and, of course, a steaming hot July wedding. They stave off potential disasters, share and debate recipes, instruct the young, and keep the Pastor on due course while thoroughly enjoying, (and tolerating) each other as the true "steel magnolias" of the church. Funny and down to earth, audiences will recognize these ladies as they witness the church year unfold from below the house of God.

A Christmas CarolCharles Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL has enchanted audiences the world over with its simple message of selfless giving. Ebenezer Scrooge, a most unrepentant, miserly fellow, is made to see the light as he survives a merciless battery of revelations by the ghosts of his own Christmases: Past, Present and Future.

Superb sets have been specially designed by the celebrated scenic designer, Larry Kaushansky (formerly Lazar Michailovich Kaushansky), for many years Russia's reigning set and costume design genius. His work has appeared in cities throughout the world including, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tokyo, Budapest, Dallas, Minneapolis, and finally Detroit, where his spectacular set for A CHRISTMAS CAROL premiered in 1992. His design for this production was chosen by Theatre Craft Magazine in 1996 as one of the top set designs of the year. This same gorgeous set design is used for our all new touring musical production of A CHRISTMAS CAROL complete with special effects created by renowned magician, Franz Harary.

Filled with many of the most beloved traditional carols of the season, this enchanting new production transports the audience back to the cobblestone streets of Victorian London.

New music composed by Kevin Rotty, who created the original music for the national tours of "A Legend of St. Nicholas" and "Miracle On 34th Street", enhances this timeless tale as the audience follows the soul transforming journey of Ebenezer Scrooge.

The script for A CHRISTMAS CAROL has been adapted by Buffy Sedlachek, a prize-winning playwright of Minneapolis' famed Playwrights' Center. Sedlachek's numerous plays include RETRIBUTION RAG and SALVATION which were developed at Midwest Playlabs and subsequently seen at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Manhattan Class Company, Circle Repertory Company and the Denver Center Theatre, among others. Sedlachek has also adapted several children's plays including: SLEEPING BEAUTY, HEIDI, ROBIN HOOD and LITTLE WOMEN , which premiered at Child's Play Theatre in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

A Closer Walk With Patsy Cline

The musical concert tribute was the brainchild of Canadian Writer and Director, Dean Regan. Originally conceived in 1991, A CLOSER WALK WITH PATSY CLINE is a loving tribute to the singer that traces her early struggles, breakthroughs, successes and challenges. A fictional disc jockey in Cline’s hometown of Winchester, Virginia, flashes through time from dusty roadhouse gigs to the Grand Ole Opry, to Las Vegas and on to fabled Carnegie Hall, changing with the venue from hillbilly to slick Las Vegas comic. A five-piece band backs up Patsy as she croons her hits and shares anecdotes from her life. She appears in a variety of costumes from fringe and boots to supper club satin.
